('03) "RADAR Living". Mixed media cooperation project in the city of Venice, Italy.

Twelve giant photographs illustrated the Venetian phase, reflecting the artists condition of temporary guests: they portrayed themselves inside the apartments in which they lived, simultaneously integrated and extraneous to the urban fabric. The resulting images are grouped together under the title Radar Living, with a clear reference to inhabiting. But this can be seen as a play on words in English and be transformed into "rather living": to be in the condition of suspension which characterises a visitor, even a long-term visitor, yet one who does not really reside here; which is exactly what happens to these young artists, and also, in the unending process of hybridising, to the entire human race that is becoming increasingly nomadic, and to a European continent that is ever richer in its connections. A peculiarity of Venice which the Radar artists capted, and this is paradoxical given the relationship the city has with its past, is its enormous activity of renewal. Building sights and cranes are there for all to see. And it is on the wooden sheds of the Insula building sites, where the construction tools are kept, that the Radar artists exhibit their ironic self-portraits.

('03) "Favella pavilion" Independent group art project in the city of Venice, Italy. Instalation, mixed media.

Favela Pavilion, 2003. Venice. F5 Suite group

Dreams and conflicts, cultivated in an international eand established art exhibition. Here art is body of infrastructure, money and access, your role is defined, as an artist or as vewer, as a producer, or as a spectator. Constructg a space, a home, in designated place with discarted materials found on the streets of an undeveloped metropolis is a process that we term favela, casa de carton, squatter camp, paraga and baraka. A small pavilion, a favela, is positioned on the site of the Venice Biannale anonymously. It stands there seeming natural and does not reasemble an art peace. It is an open space to be discovered, a small house for projections and contemplations. You are welcome...

Green is my favorite color, 2003 installation, dimensions variable

"Are we what we watch?" Because if we are, the most likely way to clean the dryness from our eyes is just to close them. This dryness may be caused by the plethora of choices available in these times of mass media. Or maybe it's just tiredness. And, in the end, it's a pity that the closed eyes only see fantasies. But anyway-it's just a little pity...

('03) "The Fragment" Group exhibition in the City of Venice, Italy. Instalation, mixed media.

the FRAGMENT, 2003. Venice, A+A Gallery. A one night exhibition and event

Conceived by Georgi Linkov with the participation of: Seetha A, Svetlana Mircheva, Svetoslav Stoyanov, Stephanie Jüngling, Marcin Strzelecki, Wojciech Kolek, Georgia Sagri, Nikolaos Kanarelis, Dionysios Kavallieratos, Anna Tsouloufi, Claudia Losi, Michelangelo Penso, Franco Gazzarri. Daniel Banaczek in collaboration with Giulia Zane, Andrea Bugno, Monica Donati, Maria Elena Scalabrin, Andrea Doria, and Adriano Cuccolo. A fragment is something special and strange. A little exotic. A little mysterious. A little intimate. A little meaningful. A little meaningless. And, if we look at history like sequence of fragments, we will stand in front of a broken mirror - interesting, funny... but broken. However, if we use the glue of our knowledge, to stick the pieces back together, we will see our own reflection. Then we may decide that the funny image was better and to break the mirror again. Or perhaps not... There are many ideas about the fragment and its meaning in the context of culture. About the ???amorphous semantic??? of the visual code and the ???distortion of meaning???. About abstraction and synthesis. About history. About the present. And in this sense, we can suggest that the fragment began to live a life different from his lovely parent - the whole. And is there a way back home for him? Is it actually necessary for him to exist this way? ???the FRAGMENT??? project is, some how, focused on these subjects, but moreover it attempts to explore different viewpoints. The wish to destroy and at the same time preserve. To give and to keep. To play and be serious. To speak and to be quiet. ???the FRAGMENT??? wants to use the collected energy of undefined meaning, because this large amount of potential energy, awaits freedom. A ???freedom??? that now ??“ in this time, in this place, in this situation ??“ can be used to express something. For example: - Art is merchandise. The product of art is merchandise. It has been thus for a long time. Perhaps there is a good r?ason for this because as we know, duration is a very important thing. Despite this, although it may seem banal, let??™s act for a moment, as though this is not so... Another suggestion: - ???I??™m standing in front of this picture. I like its upper right corner. It would suit the green couch in my living room. That??™s all I want.??? - Good. You have it... And the final suggestion: - In the modern aesthetic there exists an idea, that only the ???material??? image remains in the gallery while it??™s meaning escaped long ago through a variety of media. In this case, let??™s allow the ???material??? to escape together with the meaning but in some way still to remain where it is... Practically, this project aims to arrange an exhibition of original works on paper, made by variety of international artists from England, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Greece, Italy. The originals will be cut into equal sized pieces and glued, in the form of the original work, onto a transparent plastic sheet using double-sided tape. Size-as photos of the original will be glued to the underside of the plastic sheet. Thus, we obtain a sort of sandwich: original/transparent sheet/photograph. Each guest is invited to take home, as a gift, his favourite fragment. After he leaves the exhibition he goes back home and, before he switches the TV on, he hangs the fragment on the wall (unless he has thrown it away on the road home). It??™s his piece anyway. After a few hours the event will close.
